wood on lacquer Location:Japan Weight:26g Traditional Negoro-nuri lacquerware with a beautiful black pattern of grazing on vermilion-lacquered vessels, serendipitous discovery born from the ingenuity of Zen temple monks. Originally crafted for temple purposes, including trays and serving dishes, a fortuitous mishap during the lacquering process resulted in the creation of these stunning vessels with alluring black patterns gracing their vermilion surfaces. This item was used at a Zen temple in Kyoto, and while these vessels are usually cracked and unusable, this item is actually usable.
